Layers of the Earth
WALT-make a model of the layer of of the earth out of play dough.shakes the outer core, mantel and the crust making the volcano explode.
So... that when we learn about natural disasters we can use our knowledge of the layers to understand them better .
To... help us in topic and science and learn about the earth around us.
The first layer of the earth is named the crust or the tectonic plates it includes continents seas
are you aware that the thickness of the tectonic plates or crust is 15-17km.
The second layer is the mantle but there is a difference... because there is a upper mantle and a lower mantle. Did you know that the upper mantle is 400km thick, containing iron and magnesium? The lower mantle is 2300km thick and it contains more than the upper layer.
The third layer is the outer core. It is 2300km thick. Does anybody know that includes liquid, nickel and sulphur?
Finally the last layer is the inner core. It is 1220km thick. It contains iron, nickel and it is solid. The temperature is 6650 degrees Celsius!
